Bio

I am a former journalist, author and freelance writer who publishes and speaks on modern media and new journalism trends -- specifically the changing role of the news media and what it means for both consumers and creators of news.

I worked as a journalist for the Associated Press, United Press International, the Ventura County Star and Thompson Newspapers, among others. I am the author of a non-fiction book on the death penalty, and my articles and commentary are published in the Orange County Register, Los Angeles Times, San Diego Union-Tribune, and in numerous Internet publications.

I graduated from the University of Missouri School of Journalism in 1989. Today I live in Orange County, Calif., with my wife, Christine, and seven-year-old daughter, Alexandra.
