I hadn't heard of Google Publication Ads before tonight, but it sounds like a pretty interesting idea. Looking into it some more, I saw Business Week mentioned it it December of last year, although C-Net has an article from last August. I wonder how well the idea's taking off and why it's not on the radar more. Did the magazines require a minimum amount per column inch? How far will the alliance go? Will Google be selling classifieds for newspapers soon?

Amos Gelb at OJR: New media age, new marketing strategies - To be honest, I haven't had time to fully digest this yet (it's quite long), but skimming over it, I'm sure it will be worth the time. In the piece, Gelb explains why 'Journalism business' doesn't have to be an oxymoron. Specifically, he looks at The Discovery Times Channel, The Washington Monthly and The WashingtonPost.com

Media Orchard posts on a screw-up by Cincinnati magazine, which falsely reported that The Kentucky Post had called a local politico the region's "go-to gay" (rather than "go-to guy") in a headline. The mag had gotten its info from an online newsletter without doing its own fact-checking. A similar incident occurred at a Nashville TV station recently, resulting in a reporter's resignation.
