InsideVandy - a college community experiment

A college media experiment launched quietly on Sept. 1 as InsideVandy went live. The site, assembled by Vanderbilt Student Media, is a brave attempt to do for the Vanderbilt student population what Bluffton Today and others are doing in small communities around the country.

Any student at Vandy can blog, post photos, and contribute to the site.

I'd invite you to check out the site and see for yourself. Also, Vandy Student Media Director Chris Carroll is a co-worker in the Reinventing College Media weblog, and he has written about the launch here. We also have a podcast/mp3 available of Chris talking about the process by which the independent student media organization went about "reinventing" itself.

The launch of InsideVandy provides a little bit of "hope" for the future of journalism, I'd like to believe.
