Do Unto Others...

Do Unto Others...

This is pretty funny. So the Armed and Famous show ran tonight, right? I've been running Google ads (til CBS came in and upped the bid to some unknown high dollar amount!) Anyway, tonight at the MFP Forums, we had a few out-of-towners stop by to give their thoughts on the show. As a journalist and new media publisher, I told them we were the underdog in town and that they might like to go to The Star Press' forums.

One did! And copied and pasted a thread from MFP to the TSP's forums. Hah. That's pretty funny. So, right now, a new user on The Star Press' forums threw up a post that included me telling the new people to ALSO check out The Star Press while they were visiting.

Meh. I lost a visitor maybe, but I did the right thing. And that's important.

Welcome to the site, rapril2000. Thanks for sharing your thoughts.

To be fair, for those of you from out of town, we're not the 'normal newspaper forums' (long story there!)

You might also check out The Star Press' Forums if you're looking for other views on the show.

We're more than happy to have you here at MFP, though.

Your friendly publisher,
kpaul

To top it off...

one of the new users *did* go to the TSP forums and cut and pasted the thread from MFP to TSP. heh. so there's a thread on TSP now where I invite people to TSP. confused yet?!

IT's weird...

The Star Press tried a 'live blog' tonight. One comment. All the action was on their phpBB Forum site. Are they just blogging for blogging's sake? That is, just so they can say they have them and are 'hip'? They really don't seem to understand the technology - I mean, they already *have* a thriving community of users. They're not tending that very well. Anyways...
