Citizen Journalism Contest

Al "The Computer Dude" Jordan created a contest at his ElwoodIndiana.org site that I thought was worth a mention. He's giving away $50 to a member of the site. The winner (with the best decorated house in the small city of 5,000 households) will be voted on by the members of the site. I'm not sure how he's going to handle the voting yet, but it's a great idea and I wish him the best of luck.

I should be doing something similar on AFP, but I've switched gears for a while to earn some cash. (Not as bad as I was last year, pre-print, but I'm still working "on the side" a lot to keep things going. Things are going good, though. We spiked at over 5,000 visits the day after the election. Not all local, but it was interesting to see.
