Ad Sales Continue... Plus a little Circulation

I'd say another week is beginning, but the previous ones haven't ended yet. I take small breaks here and there, but there's a lot to be done. I'm going on week 3 of sales, three days with a second person. I have 3 sales so far, with a lot of interest from some interesting segments - namely real estate and autos. Ruh row.

I'm also going to expand the number of extra copies I get to distribute at local locations. I think I'm going to try to get into places by saying the name of the business will be on a list in each issue. Perhaps 50 copies at 10 or 20 locations to start. This is going to take some time, though. (And I have pages to layout, content to gather, questions to answer, etc...Interview with the mayor coming up and chasing down the Chief of Police.)

And I've found a local who's willing to make turn of the last century wood and glass newspaper boxes - eventually those will be cool, I think...

I'm much better at the long range thinking, the long range dreaming - a howitzer. But lately I've had to become a Gloc, hitting moving targets at close range.

About 100 copies left for business owners and movers and shakers around town. I sent a couple to DC (Mike Pence...)

I've made a contact in the local human carrier scene. Wow. Might be a story, there. I wonder how the carriers are doing around the country - are they the first to be cut with belt tightening? I got some general numbers of what they were paid. To be able to go through the postal service (and begin to get ready for legal classifieds) is the eventual goal, but for now I have the main way of getting it out - the Valassis Ad Pack. I'm thinking about adding a contractor to help move the single copies after they arrive from the printer.

Random thoughts about print. And here's a poem I wrote last night at Ergo Poetry - something I do on my limited downtime.

Enjoy and have a great week.
